Products of the Self-Reaction of HCO Radicals: Theoretical Kinetics Studies
The mechanism of the self-reaction of HCO radicals is investigated by using high-level quantum-chemical methods including M05-2X, CCSD, CCSD(T) and CRCC(2,3). Next, the rate coefficients for several product channels as a function of pressure and temperature are computed by employing statistical rate theories. Four important product channels are predicted to be CO + CO + H2, HCOH + OH, cis-(HCO)...
متن کاملFemtosecond real-time probing of reactions. VIII. The bimolecular reaction Br+I2
In this paper, we discuss the experimental technique for real-time measurement of the lifetimes of the collision complex of bimolecular reactions. An application to the atom-molecule Br + I, reaction at two collision energies is made. Building on our earlier Communication [J. Chem. Phys. 95, 7763 ( 1991)], we report on the observed transients and lifetimes for the collision complex, the nature ...
متن کاملFemtosecond probing of bimolecular reactions: The collision complex
Progress has been made in probing the femtosecond dynamics of transition states of chemical reactions.* The “half-collision” case of unimolecular reactions has been experimentally investigated for a number of systems and much theoretical work has already been developed.2 For bimolecular reactions, the case of full collision, the zero of time is a problem which makes the femtosecond temporal res...
متن کاملThermal decomposition pathways of hydroxylamine: theoretical investigation on the initial steps.
Hydroxylamine (NH(2)OH) is an unstable compound at room temperature, and it has been involved in two tragic industrial incidents. Although experimental studies have been carried out to study the thermal stability of hydroxylamine, the detailed decomposition mechanism is still in debate. In this work, several density functional and ab initio methods were used in conjunction with several basis se...
متن کاملAnalysis of Brownian Dynamics Simulations of Reversible Bimolecular Reactions
A class of Brownian dynamics algorithms for stochastic reaction-diffusion models which include reversible bimolecular reactions is presented and analyzed. The method is a generalization of the λ–̺ model for irreversible bimolecular reactions which was introduced in [11]. The formulae relating the experimentally measurable quantities (reaction rate constants and diffusion constants) with the algo...
